Jazzy, it’s the impression after hear all singles of his album titled Confession No. 1. Little different from the impression of his first single titled Terima Kasih Cinta that is considered pop and easy listening. As it’s so jazzy, as common as other
jazz, it’s a little hard to get enjoyed if hear the singles only once; except for Terima Kasih Cinta, that’s already sensational, touchy, n directly felt. The music is considered to be minimalist, with the strong in the vocal and lyrics.
Contrary with the album’s title that make us think that it’s all about his personal experience, the lyrics themselves are actually written by other composer, not Afgan himself. Except, a single titled Confession that’s really written by him together with other composer. Despite the jazz nuance, that’s hard to be directly enjoyed, after times they begin to be enjoyed and easy listening, and can be taken as a contemplation music for those who has the same heart asmophere.
The first four tracks can be considered OK, which are, Tanpa Batas Waktu, Terima Kasih Cinta, Klise, and Entah. A duet is also found, with Nagita S, titled Yang Kutahu Cinta Itu Indah. MTV Ampuh said, the second single that’s going to be made into clip is Sadis. Just play it more, and get enjoyed with all of the 13 tracks in the album.
‘Tanpa Batas Waktu’
Bukan sekali aku alami getaranmu menyentuhku
tidak berhenti mencari-cari untuk bisa milikimu
* mencoba bisa melawan tapi semakin tertawan
** ku jatuh cinta jatuh tuk kesekian kalinya
cintai kamu terlanjur cinta
terlanjur aku inginkan cintamu
tergila-gila memujamu tanpa batas waktu
dulu ku pergi mencoba lari lupakanmu
menghapusmu tidak berhenti
menjadi-jadi untuk bisa milikimu
*)
**)
‘Sadis’
Terlalu sadis caramu menjadikan diriku
pelampiasan cintamu agar dia kembali padamu
tanpa peduli sakitnya aku
tega niannya caramu menyingkirkan diriku
dari percintaan ini agar dia kembali padamu
tanpa peduli sakitnya aku
* semoga Tuhan membalas semua yang terjadi
kepadaku suatu saat nanti
hingga kau sadari sesungguhnya yang kau punya
hanya aku tempatmu kembali sebagai cintamu
