This 2007 mudik was quite fun. Driving by self for long travel around 800 km the 1st time quite challenging. Fortunately, not all the way drove the car, as i went with my brother to drive in replace by half of the way. If people went mudik from Jakarta to outside region “mudik kampung”, i did the opposite way from outside region to Jakarta “mudik kota”, with Kediri City, East Java as the start point. So needed not to worry to get stucked in “macet” traffic jam. Since i went in H-3, the traffic was ok, not got jammed. In Sragen, i took alternative way via Gemolong, out in Salatiga. The road quality in this alternative way quite good, no hole at all, although its not so wide compare to the main way. It did save time, better than took main way routed via Solo. The way from Semarang to Cikampek like toll road as it has four lines, two lines each, can go in more 80 km/hour. It just got slow down when bypassed the city way. The opposite way was quite flowed too, although more vehicles there. I just got little jammed in Cirebon, as my lines narrowed from two to one, as the line taken by the opposite traffic. Last jammed in Cikampek, as its outgate toll road dedicated for vehicles from Jakarta, they did begin to be jammed. As it’s closed, i entered Cikampek-Jakarta toll road via Bukit Indah City, Kalihurip gate. Well, this mudik 2007 did quite fun, hopefully the government should build real toll road across pantura, so it will be more flowed, or at least build ring road to avoid city road in the way.
