Once Upon A Time, The History of My Handset

Myhandsetseries My first handset was Siemens M35i. It was bought after my two years job, in 2001, at price IDR 1.600.000,00. Like this handphone, as it had strong design image, and did truly strong in its physical as it’s water, dust, and shock resistance. Now status, it was sold.

Next handset was Sony Ericsson T310. Bought right after i move to new job, in 2003, at price IDR 1.800.000,00. It’s so attractive, as it had the best screen a 256 CSTN colour and vga camera accessory, the advanced feature of that time in economic price. Now status, it was sold.

The next replacement was Nokia 6230. Bought in May 2004, at price IDR 4.200.000,00. It was the best of the best. 65K TFT colour, built in vga camera, complete connectivity with irDA and bluetooth, and a compact size. It is still used till now, and the best of it that i like is its keypad that’s so comfort to type and has a good T9 predictive text input, that won’t make my finger tired of typing. Now status, Still in my active collection, secondary number left at home, GSM ISAT Mentari.

Cosidered having complement number, i bought second handset, in October 2004, at price IDR 740.000,00. As a complement, it should tiny enough. The choice is come to Panasonic A101. It did best in fulfil the tiny criteria, as is the tiniest handset ever. Although it’s keypad and sound quality not so good, still it was good for a companion. Now status, hand it over to my fam.

As i need home phone number. A bought a cdma phone for my fixed wireless number. The choice came to Nokia 6585, in May 2005, at price IDR 1.550.000,00. It has good keypad, comfort for typing, but not so good screen, only 256 CSTN colour. But, it’s OK, as intended to be left in home only. Now status, Still in my active collection, home number, CDMA TELKOM Flexi.

Had not comfortable with the Panasonic A101, i bought Siemens C75, in November 2005, at price IDR 1.550.000,00. It has good screen, although it has 65K TFT colurs, it’s so bright so near to 262K TFT colour of other handset. It’s keypad so hard that made it not comfortable for typing, camera quality not so good to, blur VGA. But still Ok for a complement handset. Now status, hand it over to my fam.

Seeing advertising in television, became attractived to Nokia 6270, a sliding business and music phone. Bought in February 2006, at price IDR 4.200.000,00. It become prime handset, as consequences Nokia 6230 become complement. Nokia 6270 can be viewed as a successor of 6230, as its profiles as a business one. A good one as Nokia 6230, the big and comfortable keypad plus a big screen with 262K TFT colour. it had built in 2MP camera. As its bigger size, it’s a little bit heavy as a phone but still tolerable. One of its lack is the quality of the material, as the paint in navigating keypad became loss the colour after times. Now status, hand it over to my fam.

As the next generation of Nokia 6xxx series came. i bought Nokia 6288 (same design and as a small improvement for 6280), in March 2007, at price IDR 2.700.000,00. It had front camera, as a 3G phone. Everything is good, 2MP camera and bright 262K TFT colour, plus a smaller size than Nokia 6270. Great tools for recording, result sound clear enough. And can record video in vga quality. But, after two months of used, it came to trouble, can not create MMS and breaked video player. So it came for service for more than two months, with machine replacement. After serviced, it’s OK again. But the some problems came again in a month. Seems that there’s inherent defect in this product. Even so, except for the MMS and video player, all features does good, so still keeping this phone. Now status, Still in my active collection, primary number, GSM TSEL As.

When my Nokia 6288 in service, i bought Sony Ericsson M600i for replacement, in May 2007, IDR 2.525.000,00. Actually at that time i’d like to buy Nokia E61i, but the product so rare that always stock out. So i choose M600i. It’s actually a 3G phone, but doesn’t have front camera, even back camera doesn’t exist too. Well it make no problem, as it has power in connectivity. As it is symbian, it’s good enough to handle office and pdf files, A2DP stereo bluetooth, 262K TFT touch screen, and the best one a push email so i can open my office email while on duty. Now status, Still in my active collection, tertiary number left at home, GSM HCPT 3.
