Last friday i went to house of sampoerna, to have "buka bersama" with some friends in surabaya. Besides a cafe, there’s special building intended to be a "small" museum that tells the history of sampoerna, one of the well-known cigarette maker in indonesia. Inside there’re some pictures, cigarettes, tobacco sample, tobacco machine, printing machine, old matches boxes, and other things related to its production and marketing. As a guide there’s a touch screen monitor that will inform you any information related. In the second floor, there’s a small shop, sells some merchandises such as t-shirt and pin.
From there, we can also see how the cigarette was made, a traditional one, as there’s a small factory under the window, complete with the production facility and the workers. Unfortunately, i came there at night so i didn’t see it, as the factory only opens in the morning and noon.
